Hope

1.“Hope is one leg of a three-legged stool, together with faith and charity. These three stabilize our lives regardless of the rough or uneven surfaces we might encounter at the time.”

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
“The Infinite Power of Hope” General Conference Oct. 2008

2.“As we put our faith and trust to work, hope is born. Hope grows out of faith and gives meaning and purpose to all that we do. It can even give us the peaceful assurance we need to live happily in a world that is ripe with iniquity, calamity, and injustice.”

Elder M. Russell Ballard
“The Joy of Hope Fulfilled” Oct.  1992 General Conference

3.“Love. Healing. Help. Hope. The power of Christ to counter all troubles in all times—including the end of times. That is the safe harbor God wants for us in personal or public days of despair.”

Elder Jeffery R. Holland
“Safety for the Soul” Oct. 2009 General Conference

4.“The scriptures make it clear that each generation has its own version of best and worst of times. We are all subject to the conflict between good and evil  and the contrast between light and dark, hope and despair.”

Elder Quentin L. Cook
“Hope Ya Know, We Had a Hard Time” Oct. 2008 General Conference

5."When you feel that there is only a thin thread of hope, it is really not a thread but a massive connecting link, like a life preserver to strengthen and lift you. It will provide comfort so you can cease to fear. Strive to live worthily and place your trust in the Lord."
-Elder Richard G. Scott "For Peace at Home", April 2013 General Conference

6."But even though we may feel lost in the midst of our current circumstances, God promises the hope of His light—He promises to illuminate the way before us and show us the way out of darkness."

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf  "The Hope of God's Light"  Apr. 2013 General Conference

7.{To any who may be struggling to see that light and find that hope, I say: Hold on. Keep trying. God loves you. Things will improve. Christ comes to you in His “more excellent ministry” with a future of “better promises.” He is your “high priest of good things to come.”}.

Elder Jeffery R. Holland "An High Priest of Good Things to Come" Oct. 1999 General Conference

8. "In a day of danger or a time of trial, such knowledge, such hope, such understanding bring comfort to a troubled soul and a grieving heart. Shadows of despair are dispelled by rays of hope; sorrow yields to joy; and the feeling of being lost in the crowd of life vanishes with the certain knowledge that our Heavenly Father is mindful of each of us."

Pres. Thomas S. Monson "To the Rescue" Apr. 2001 General Conference

9.{Live with hope that you can achieve and accomplish and develop the great gifts our Father in Heaven has given to you and one day “receive an inheritance” among the mansions of the Father.}.

Elder L. Tom Perry  "Youth of the Noble Birthright"  1998 General Conference

10."What, then, does it mean to wait upon the Lord? In the scriptures, the word wait means to hope, to anticipate, and to trust. To hope and trust in the Lord requires faith, patience, humility, meekness, long-suffering, keeping the commandments, and enduring to the end."

Elder Robert D. Hales  "Waiting upon the Lord:  Thy Will Be Done"  Oct 2011 General Conference

Capstone Position Statement:

Hope is needed now more than ever before.  Looking at our world now does not give one much hope.  The prophets and apostles though seem to have all the hope in the world.  It’s not that they don’t worry or our concerned with our society today, but they know that all will be well, that things may come and go but to never give up on hope.
I have learned that over the years as well, although things seem so dark and dreary, I have hope that Heavenly Father has a plan, I am part of that plan and so are you.  We must hope together that we can succeed in our mission here and that all is not lost.
I continue to find  hope in many ways.  I try to live the way I am suppose too, to treat others right and try to help them make their lives better.

Satan wants us to loose hope and to think that we are alone and that all is lost.  This is a mind game, and one that he must not be allowed to win.  Sometimes things are hard and sometimes all seems lost, but that is not so.  Heavenly Father and our Savior have a plan and we are part of it, we must put our hope and faith in them.  All will be well, you just need to hang on for a little bit longer.
